The Proprietary driver doesn't support the slick plymouth as good as the
open driver. I suggest that this should be a wish instead of a bug.

I have this same error.
I have more than enough free HDD space but the HDD frequently shows problems
when I manually fsck.
So it could indeed be the cause of a failing HDD.

Using a wired desktop 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 beta.
Although, after enabeling ipv6 in firefox I can browse with the speed I'm used
to.
But installing stuff from Ubuntu remains "slow".
I hope there will be a fix soon.
