In my case, it was solved by the following:
- Reinstall Ubutu 13.04
- Leave the location/ time zone as it is (do not change the time zone, leave as
its default)
- Cotinue installation
When installation is completed, time zone or location can be changed.
Hope this will also work for you.

), it SOLVED!
Finally, sound on my iMac9,1 ALC889A come back again. No need to use
"model=imac91", etc., it's just work.
