The thumbnails are stored in ~/.thumbnails/normal (and /large). Each
thumbnail filename seems to be a hash of the original filename. I guess
only the filename is used and not the full path, so two images with the
same name will have the same thumbnail.

I launched update-manager from the terminal to get the errors:

I've got similar issue with a fresh install of Edgy
2.6.17-10-generic kernel:
* booting is really slow (2-3 minutes) and seems to hang a while on mounting
root file system
* gnome (animations) are really choppy when I start heavy applications (like
openoffice or wesnoth,...)
Then I install 2.6.
Roberto, I guess you are Italian, then maybe your bug is a bit
different: see bug #51419
BTW, I still have the bug referred here at each new update!

I have an intel 7260 wifi card (it is a dual band). I have had a **lot** of
trouble connecting to my router (also dual band). I don't know how I did but I
managed to connect to the 2.4GHz AP but it is not very stable. However, I've
never managed to connect to the 5.5GHz AP
This is a relatively new wifi card and the driver has only been added in
the 3.11 kernel. So it didn't work at all with the previous version of
Ubuntu :)

I've just realised I do have a headset :) The handsfree headset from my
mobile! How can I tell if it's CTIA or OMTP?
It shows up in the sound settings as "Headset Microphone" and it works!
