of screen, or select the right card with the vesa driver that is

If you select the right card in the xorg.conf file, load the nvidia-glx
drivers and restricted kernel modules, then it works fine (or at least

If you click on 'Lock Session', then the screensaver loads up fine. It
is just when it comes on by its own that nothing happens.

When the screensaver is set to come on automatically, a blank screen appears
and there is no requirement to login when you move the mouse / press a key,
it just goes back to the desktop. If you 'Lock Screen', then it works fine.

I have recently done a clean install of Mythbuntu 10.04 on my media PC.
It has a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 4 PCI sound card, which was
working fine in Mythbuntu 9.10.
The only way for me to get sound working properly in MythTV was to

I recently did a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64.
If I click on Shared Folders in "System - Administration", and click to
install the Samba option, it correctly installs the package, but it
gives me the warning again the next time I click on Shared Folders. If I
also inst
PPS - I can confirm Eloquent's comment. The first time I toggle the
gconf show_desktop setting off then on again, this functionality
returns. Subsequent repetitions of this make no difference, and only
actually loading nautilus from the terminal bring the desktop back.

I can confirm that if you set visual effects to none this issue seems to
disappear for Ubuntu.
