I also saw this issue, looks like /usr/lib/blender/scripts is no longer
in the search path for blender.
symlinking the scripts to ~/.blender/scripts worked for me, not sure if
blender package needs updated to include the path, or if the install
path needs altered to somewhere blender does look at.
The updated kernel package seems to fix the problem for me, great work.

function from numpy. around preserves the type of arrays that are passed to it,

I was seeing this issue as well, it does not appear to be kernel
related. Following some advice from this forum thread
