Both systems hang at the very same point: initializing networking after
bringing up lvm devices. The more lvm devices, the longer it takes. Some
events get lost while lvm initialization runs. Later on other parts have

installing a new kernel. Seems as if this Window popped up more than
once for the same error.
I could make vmware tools install after applying the patch for the
commercial version. It now compiles seamlessly with the Ubuntu Kernel
I am not sure, if this patch helps, because my setup is partly non
standard ...

Quite difficult. As soon as I move the mouse it may hover a window. This
leads to a redraw of all windows, removing the artifacts from windows
moved to the other screen. ;-) I'll try further. Maybe I'll get it some
time!

Impossible! As soon as the screenshot window opens the whole screen is
redrawn --- all artifacts are removed this way! If there is a way to
take a screenshot without poping up a window I could try using this.

I have added nagvis to my nagios install, enabled graphics and automatic
creation of graphs. I can see graphs created for /dev/hda1, /dev/hda2,
but not for /user, /var/lib/mysql mounts. These deliver perfdata:

Yes it was copied, but since "/etc/dhcpd" was a link to "/etc/dhcp3"
some really strange things happened. It would have been nice, if
something like "touch /etc/dhcp3/Can_be_deleted" or something similar
had been created --- would make it a lot more clear which of the two
directories is old an
