Thanx for your great work. Indeed both bugs did not appear any more on a test
install today.
Hope that helps

Public bug reported:
I *think* it is ubiquity that causes the error.
What happens? Actually its two bugs I think:
After a standard installation of hirsute (ISO downloaded 2021-03-30)
with ZFS with encryption the bpool is not "mounted". After reboot
/boot/efi is empty so update-grub cannot install
Meanwhile I tried this also with the hirsute ubuntubudgie installer,
same problem...

Hi Nick (answering to post #14),
unfortunately also unsuccessful here.
What I did:
apt update && apt dist-upgrade until no more change
Enabled -proposed graphically, checked in
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources that is is correctly set
Added two files to /etc/apt/preferences.d/, to enable
@#24: Thanx a lot for the work. But unfortunately doesn't help a lot
because upgrades with do-release-upgrade are still disabled ("Sorry
cannot upgrade this system to 25.04 right now")
