I have version 0.8.0svn20080103-0ubuntu16 and I still get this problem.
When I and my wife are logged with separate X sessions, and I get two
instances of guidance-power-manager.py:

After upgrading from Edgy to Feisty, CPU frequency scaling stopped
working. It seems that Edgy was using speedstep-centrino.ko. speedstep-
centrino.ko was removed and acpi-cpufreq is supposed to be used instead,
but in my laptop acpi-cpufreq reports just:
