Can you also post the output when you select "kdm" instead of "kdm-kde4"
As a workaround you should be able to do "echo /usr/bin/kdm | sudo tee
/etc/X11/default-display-manager" to set kdm as the default, then "sudo
/etc/init.d/kdm start" should work.

Ok, the update seems only to have fixed the mime entries but didn't fix the
scripts that call the kde4 apps. I'm working on the final part of this issue
now and should have it uploaded soon.

debchange recognise the ~ppa* revision and increment it with -i. I've
attached a debdiff in the post below that does just this.

I believe kgpg looks for the default terminal application in the KDE settings
and defaults to Konsole when non is found, of course Gnome and KDE use
different settings so that won't help you.
So I've attached a debdiff to add konsole to the dependencies of kgpg.
