A fresh install not only had the error that is documented online with
grub2 where the "failed to load devices" error comes up, but during
installation and after booting into system, all of the titlebars are

I've re-checked the ISO with md5 and I've re-checked the disc integrity.
Still says there are no errors. I ran it from the disc itself "without
making any changes to my computer" and it still shows the goofy vertical
lines on all taskbars, titlebars, application launcher, etc.
