Mount options for VFAT in gnome-mount not working and/or defaults not

Bugs,
I'm using 11.04 Natty, and I can confirm this bug still happens.
It doesn't matter which particular ftp server is running on the server:
wether it's wu-ftpd, pure-ftpd, wzdftpd or vsftpd, the bug happens in
virtually exactly the same way. I've tried them all (thinking it might
be their fault some
Another workaround which is more Gnome-esque (than Dolphin) is to
install thunar, and libdesktop-agnostic-vfs-thunar.
The relevance to this bug is this: perhaps some developer (which I'm
not) might want to look over the FTP-related code in libdesktop-
agnostic-vfs-thunar, and perhaps use it someho
I have been using some kind of linux distro since 1997, and in all that
time, I have never, ever been "done like this" before. I have a few

browser, Nautilus. In the "Preferred Applications" utility (easily
searched for in the Launcher), there is no place to specify one's

Chris: please pardon my lack of experience in this, but I noticed that on the
"All software packages for Oneiric" page:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/allpackages

probably only make it into Oneric + 1? In other words, i
PhobosK: I tried your fix, but it didn't work. Here's what I did.
1) Added your PPA: https://launchpad.net/~phobosk/+archive/phobosk-ppa
2) apt-get update; apt-get install exo-utils # ...and I could see exo-utils
downloading from your PPA)
3) ran "exo-preferred-applications". Changed "File Ma
Most appreciated, PhobosK. That worked.

Oh Ubuntu Devs! Harken to my appeal! Have mercy! Please include gvfs
1.9.4 in Oneiric!
I feel that including this fix will deliver lots of "bang for the buck,"
because it will kill two birds with one stone, and thereby avoid these
two "embarrassments":
1) Ubuntu not having any working graphica
