This remains to be a problem, none of the updates have fixed this issue
with the nvidia drivers.

This has been fixed for me by installing the latest nvidia beta drivers
from their web site (Released 10th April). So not an unbuntu issue.

I am getting the same problem with the same video card on a Dell
inspiron 1520 laptop. Tried Envy, manual install etc, same problems.
