This option does not exist. There is no way I can find in KDE 4.8.3,
short of patching the source code, to display the time remaining on the
battery icon, so that it can be seen with a glance at the notification
area. This bug needs to be reopened.

I just tried KDE 4.9 beta from Project Neon, and the battery icon is
much worse. There doesn't seem to be any option to show any information
on the icon, either percent remaining or time remaining, just the icon
with a few blocks sh
