I cannot tar /proc/acpi either. I presume this is because it's created only when ACPI is on and working. I have tried disabling devices on my motherboard (Asus P8P67-M) in the hope it may have been a device issue, but cannot seem to narrow it down with that either. Got down to mouse + keyboard a

I've been suffering from a whole range of issues related to this ... Since upgrading from Ubuntu 14.04 to 14.10, my virt-manager prompts me for SSH passwords (even though they are saved) and renders me unable to control some remote machines. I also experience crashes of virt-manager quite a lot.
