kernels around than Ubuntu. A broken resume from hibernate rarely
results in complete data loss as the kernel buffers are usually flushed
before the computer is hibernated. It's about as bad as doing as
resetting after having run

The last patch I referred to is for wifi only and has nothing to do with volume
keys. It is solely so that wifi works out of the box (hotplugging and all)
without having to add special options to the kernel command line.

Well the good news is that someone reported the issue to the debian
maintainer and the issue was fixed upstream - http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=504229 . The sad part is that my effort here
was a complete waste of time...
