I backported the r2470 from trunk to precise (which unity version is
5.12-0ubuntu1.1), the patch attached.

there was already had a notification-audio-volume-muted.svg file in the
notify-osd-icons package.
and this is for speaker mute. when user press the hotkey on their keyboard
(such as Fn+F1), the SVG file will show in the OSD correctly.

I think bug 408903 is about whole mute issue. but this bug is about only the
requirement of two SVG files to be showed OSD, other issues (LED on/off,
keymapping, script to mute/unmute microphone, and mute state sync etc.) were
not mentioned here.

this happends on a Lenovo Zhaoyang E49L which have a 2GB memory, its
BIOS support UEFI boot and Legacy boot.
First, I tried using UEFI boot to install Ubuntu 12.04, when the
installation finished, the memory size is about 1.7G, this is right,
others was taken by the Intel HD
added some additional debug information.

BTW, I installed a Windows 7 64-bit trial version on this machine with
Legacy BIOS boot too. the memory size that reported by Windows is:
2.00GB (1.03 GB usable). so, this issue may be related BIOS.

7th with Mac Pass Through Enabled in BIOS, this issue was fixed.

I tested the 5.14.0.1021.18 in focal-proposed, the Wifi and BT works
only with 3 additional firmwares:
WIFI_RAM_CODE_MT7922_1.bin
WIFI_MT7922_patch_mcu_1_1_hdr.bin
BT_RAM_CODE_MT7922_1_1_hdr.bin
which are not available in latest linux-firmware(1.187.25) in Focal. We
need those firmwares lands to

NvCtrlConnectToSystem(op->ctrl_display, &systems);
If there is a possibility that systems.n is zero and we still need to read
nvidia config file, then it will be a problem. I tried and cannot find a
situation like that.
