Still affect me in lucid. In synaptc i see only 0.3.8-1ubuntu-1 version.

gtk-recordmydesktop 'select window' does not include gnome panel
it seems that I have the same problem
App window is frequently blanc after start, Maximise-minimise somуtimes helps
me. Context menu in firefox is blanc too.

Optional: this happens only in Unity, where the first window are less
likely to remain empty than next windows. In Gnome's all good.
