Sorry, actually this problem still occurs from time to time, even with
the last version of VMWare (8.0.2 build-591240)
Anyway, somehow, I do not like the fact that a third party app like VMWare
player/workstation can disturb the handling of my keyboard this way. I

I also confirm that the problem does not occur any more with VMWare Workstation
upgraded to 8.0.2 (actually reinstalled).
So this was not an Ubuntu bug but a VMWare one when working with Ubuntu

Bizarre, we have also been hitting this dis-functioning Num-lock
problem multiple times. Each time, it takes us ages to find out it is
due to this Mouse-Keys feature in the "Universal Access" category. We
are pretty sure we have never enabled it by ourselves, so it is either
enabled by default, o
I am also suffering from this one in order to run Eclipse in 32 bit mode
because of some legacy plugins. libgvfscommon.so.0 is still missing in
/usr/lib32 in 10.04.2 LTS.

Indeed, now that Ubuntu has become the most popular distribution for
mainstream, with Gnome and Nautilus, I do miss this ability to easily
customize the main toolbar as I could in KDE Konqueror, such as for
adding a "Show/Hide hidden files", or in Firefox.
