You may set the MTU value in /etc/vpnc/vpnc-script line 115, but this
seems to not effect the network-manager-vpnc.

This file is the output of dbus-monitor --session
"type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Backlight'". I
decreased and increased the backlight with the GNOME GPM-Applet, but
visually nothing happens (screen stays at 100% backlight).

Startet GPM in debug mode and increased / decreased the screen
brightness with the applet (nothing happens). Debug output is attached.

I upgraded to Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04), but the problem exists there
anymore.
Started HAL in debug mode and decreased the brightness with the
appropriate applet, HALs output is attached to this comment.
