I closed the "Ubuntu on EC2" task here we are no longer using that
project to track bugs. Instead, we're tracking issues on ec2 the same
as other ubuntu bugs. The best way to open a bug is with 'ubuntu-bug'
on the instance. That will set the appropriate flags and collect
additional information a
using virtio is definitely not a supported/tested path. As far as I
know, neither are even configurable other than by hacking files on the
node.
If this is reproducible, could you please attach the console output of
the instance (euca-get-console-output).

Euca2ools euca-bundle-image fails to work with a --image file , where
'file' is a symbolic link.
I'm attaching a simple script that shows the problem.
It creates a 1M file, then bundles it and a symlink to it. The symlinked file
will be tiny, the real file a representative size.
