Good catch. Of course it's Alt, not Ctrl in the description above.
Fixed.
It's Alt-^ (the key above the tabulator) in German Keyboard Layout. That
used to work in oneiric, but not in precise. I'll try Alt-` and/or
switching to an English keyboard layout later.

One "workaround" (this really doesn't deserve the name...) is to just
open the disk space analyzer and keep it in the background. This "mutes"
the messages.
Would really be nice if this bug would be fixed asap, it's things like

Yes, previous upgrades "in the good old time (TM)" DID make a backup of
changed configuration files, IF that file was modified by the user. This
rule was usual at least in Debian (woody, sarge) and SuSE. Even some
Ubuntu packages seems to follow this rule:

Probably I found a race condition for this bug:
* without doing any mouse action (aside from moving it to move focus)
the xrandr command will work fine and my desktop does behave as expected
(after running it).
* Even clicking into a terminal (to get focus) does trigger this bug,
e.g. after run
Note: Restoring my earlier backuped xorg.conf did *not* solve the
problem with X / xrandr (although some additional options are in effect
now).
So I attempt to make further analysis in bug Bug #736812 .
However: You *should* make a backup from any configuration files before
overwriting them.
I have the same problem here.
The /sbin/mount replacement of the loop-aes-utils packages breaks the complete
fuse system.
I just did an strace -f on the fuse project's hello.c example code and found
fuse uses the --no-canonicalize option in it's mount calls which is not
understood by the loop-a

Just for the record: After one week of extensive testing, -11 also fixes
