Hi
Thanks for letting me know that an upgrade is available. I have
upgraded to 2.1 using the PPA and it's looking and working great. I
guess you can close this bug report now.
Cheers

I installed Karmic on my EeePC 1000H and stellarium works fine. The
video card is:
Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller
rev 3
So that's two out of three of my intel based machines which work fine
and one that doesn't.

I'd like to confirm this too. I'm using a POP3 gmail account. The

I can confirm that this is a regression from 10.04 as I recently
reverted back to 10.04 after trying out 10.10 and discovering this and
several other problems that prevented me from staying with 10.10.

Further to my last comment, this stopped working shortly after I posted
that comment. I have since upgraded to 10.10 and notification still
doesn't work. There was also a time when the notification sound would
play for every dialogue box that evolution presented.

I did some more digging on this, and looking at the code for evolution
2.30.3, it uses libcanberra for playing the sounds. This is confirmed
by looking at the GNOME bug report that says that libcanberra was used
since 2.29.x. However, ldd shows that libcanberra is not a dependency
of the evolutio
Did even more digging, and the plugin shared object for mail
notification does depend on libcanberra so I suspect that my previous
comment was incorrect. Also, I just changed the sound in the mail
notification dialog box and it has started working again, so it might
have been fixed with the upgrad
I would also like to see this backported to Lucid as it is an LTS

I'd also like to know if there is a workaround for this. I can confirm
that it doesn't work on 0.6.1.5 on Lucid 64 bit.

I thought that this would have been fixed as it is something that new
users are likely to encounter and give them a low opinion of the
software. On the few occasions that I got a sound to play correctly, it
then started playing every time a dialog box was presented by Evolution,
at which point I g

I just tried this with compiz disabled and no crash happens, so it looks
like it's compiz related.

I also had this problem, so I decided to use a script to play a wav file
using aplay. During my testing I found that aplay wouldn't play some of
my wav files with the following error:

not PCM or FLOAT encoded
