This package tries to manage a file that is also managed by another
nvidia package.
Sorry, I can't remember which other nvidia package caused the problem
now but it was related to nvidia-cuda-toolkit.
I had to resolve it like this:
sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite libnvidia-

Yes, it was a transient problem. Once i updated and upgraded the system

In the final stages of installation of ubunt the installation crashed reporting
error 5 input/output error. The discription given is " this may happen because
of faulty DVD or clean your read write head or your hard disk may be old and
need replacement". I have tried in
