did you set media/LOG as the temp file on purpose?
Also when you unset that gconf key, did you use the brasero interface? or
gconf-editor? (It seems that the key wasn't actually changed after all since I
found media/LOG in your gconf log)

Sarah, you seem to have nautilus-cd-burner 2.15 libraries. They are
backward incompatible unfortunately. But nautilus-cd-burner 2.14 should
work fine with bonfire/brasero.
What is nautilus-cd-burner version in ubuntu?

I recently fixed a bug in brasero where because we were using fwrite() instead
of write() for logging we got truncated log.
Could you check if it helps to fix your bug too?
