a test case, if the ingredient key editor cannot provide that. I can
inspect the data structures in sqlite itself. What should I be looking
for? How do I know the entries in there are actually valid? Am I
mistaken to assume

The hardy version generally isn't well supported. The best option and
the one that we usually advise is to use the one from my PPA which is
much more usable
