Public bug reported:
After establishing a connection to a IKEv2 VPN (strongswan based server)
using the Network Manager the user machine can't do network traffic and
the client system logs:
ago 09 08:30:59 vmubuntu2404 kernel: nm-xfrm-1839711: Local routing loop
detected!
ago 09 08:30:59 vmubunt
Version 6.0.0 of strongswan was released December 3rd, including the fix
indicated by @tobias-strongswan -
https://github.com/strongswan/strongswan/releases/tag/6.0.0 - #2230
Any idea if it will be backported for Ubuntu 24.04? We have several
users facing this routing loop issue in our institution
Sadly that's not possible for us - our users (university) already have
trouble just configuring the VPN (even though its extensively
documented) thus asking them to alter system-level configurations is a
no-go :-)
