make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version dick1.0 kernel_image
kernel_headers
and this is the error. The compile works but look at the directories it is
trying to write to? 2.6.32-cu

I also have this problem. I installed my own custom kernels and then purged
them. Now when I run update-grub update-initramfs tries to update all those
purged kernels. Thanks,

I have just looked at /var/lib/initramfs-tools and all my old kernels that I
have purged are still there including the currently installed kernels.
Obviously this list is not being cleared. Should be easy to fix. Interesting
though this does not happen under Debian testing.

I have also had this persistence problem with ubuntu 20.04.
Casper will not load a file labelled Casper-rw. It does use a partition
labelled Casper-rw.
Ubuntu 19.04 persistence works with files and partitions labelled casper-rw.

When installing Ubuntu 13.04 amd64 desktop Ubiquity hangs at the end of the
installation process with "Copying installation logs...". The install never

Hi my persistence file was not corrupt. I created the usb image using an older
version of unetbootin and ubuntu 13.04 intalled fine. The process completed.

linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic and linux-image-3.5.0-18-generic from ubuntu
12.10. It also seems to be related to my Optical Genius mouse as this is
mentioned often in the syslog file just before the stack trace.

Sorry that I have only responded now. I have been trying to change hardware to
see if I can isolate the bug. I have changed video cards, mice etc.

No stack dumps so far, but I will test if for some time still. My hardware is
set back to what it was before.
One strange thing (not a bug) there is no terminal if I do Ctrl alt F1.

I have marked it as 'confirmed'. There are no problems with kernel 3.7.0
on my machine.
I did boot kernel-3.5.0-18-generic to test again and the above bug did happen.
I got 'kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/mm/mmap.c:2312!' with kernel
3.5.0-18-generic within a few minutes.

I have found hardware errors on my computer. I have a problem that two memory
modules will not work together as dual channel memory. They fail the memtest86+
test when they are in adjacent slots.
Kernel 3.7.0 rc7 does work perfectly on my computer but the memory
requirements are prob

this comment is to confirm that a memory module was faulty. It has been
replaced and all kernels 3.5.0-17/18/19 including 3.7.0 rc7 all work perfectly
on my machine. I have testing it thoroughly for more than a week.
