Oh, nm, I was thinking of the @mentions vs private messages tabs we used
to have. Right, friends-app never had tabs for different protocols.

I had started a branch to support twitpic but after a few days of
struggling with oauth I gave up on it. No changes to friends-app were
ever made to display images in a nicer way. Feel free to take a stab at
this if you want to.

This seems to be fixed in latest trusty proposed. Not all the animations
work quite right, but it at least no longer becomes unresponsive during
edge swipes, at least for me.

the fix for Bug
This systemsettle thing is some kind of fluke, because the change that
got reverted does nothing other than *reduce* the frequency with which
friends does things. The revert causes friends to activate itself and
poll things online literally 3x more often.
