pulseaudio/gnome startup?, every other login to gnome i get this and
apps cant play any sound at all, i have to either log in/out or kill

I'm experiencing behaviour similar to that in bug #223647: the system
boots and runs unusably slow. Unfortunatly, upgrading the BIOS did not
help and neither did downgrading to gutsy server.
Hardware:
Intel DG965OT mainboard
(BIOS update 1729)
Intel Core2 Duo E4500
4 GB RAM
I have "solved" the problem temporarily by installing the "generic"
kernel, so there is definitely something about the "server" image that
doesn't play with my hardware.

I am happy to report that this problem is no longer present as of
intrepid server alpha 5 (have not tried the earlier alphas). I may add
that hardy desktop x64 worked as well so this was definitely a desktop
vs server thing.

looks like you forgot some argument to ./configure and the buildsystem
is trying to make a native i686-pc-linux-gnu compiler. You will at least
