I'm still seeing this. My distro is up to date as of Sep 27 10:43 PM EST. I'm able to consistently reproduce this by enabling "Normal desktop effects" and switching to Full Screen and back in vmware server with Windows XP running on it. The only way to come out of it is to press Alt + SysRq + k. S
