I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit (up to date as of Oct 8, 3:01 EST) on a
Dell Lattitude D630 laptop. After 8.10 update network manager doesn't
recognize my wired network connection (eth0). It always shows that as
disconnected. This causes other applications to behave incorrectly

I have a Plextor PX-750UF USB/IEEE 1394 drive. It can burn DVD+Rs at 16x
speed. When I tried to burn a 16x RITEK DVD it took about 45 minutes
(the size of the ISO is about 4 GB). The same ISO burns under 6 minutes
on Microsoft Windows
Yes it does. As you can see from my bug description that I can burn the
same ISO in the same media within 6 minutes in Windows (which is the
expected time for a 16x DVD+R).

Forgot to mention that CD-ROM burning works fine. (it burns at 40x which
is the maximum speed Plextor PX-750UF can burn at). This makes me think
that this could be a bug in growisofs (dvd+rw-tools).

Sometimes could not restore a remote desktop window when running "Normal
visual effects" by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Enter. The only way to bring
back your desktop is to goto a terminal window and kill rdesktop
process.
Here is my system specs:
Dell Latitude D620, 2.33 Ghz Core
When I wrote the original bug it was incosistent. Now, I can reproduce
this issue all the time.

Yes, vmware is using 1024x768 and my system default resolution is
1600x1200 (I use an external Dell 2007FP monitor, default resolution on
my laptop is 1280x800). I will try disabling "Disable sync to vblank"
option and let you know.

I'm still seeing this. My distro is up to date as of Sep 27 10:43 PM
EST. I'm able to consistently reproduce this by enabling "Normal desktop
effects" and switching to Full Screen and back in vmware server with
Windows XP running on it. The only way to come out of it is to press Alt
+ SysRq + k.

consistently reproduce this by enabling "Normal desktop effects" and
switching to Full Screen and back in vmware server with Windows XP

Yes it is in my sources.list. I tried removing it from my sources.list
and uninstalling google-chrome before I did the upgrade but that didn't
work either.
