The new rhythmbox on intrepid has now an option (rhythmbox-client

uses too much ram as shown in the line extracted from top:

I jump often between 100% and 67%. I've tried to stay at one zoom level
but the same happen. As far as I've seen the zoom level doesn't affect
much to the ram usage.

Ok, now it doesn't crash when the sound card is unreachable, but the
error message is of no help.

It seems that my problem is bios related. Newer kvm releases tell that
svm instructions are disabled by bios and doesn't crash.
I've talked with the mainboard maker support and they say that it's on
purpose due to some "possible instabilities" when svm is enabled and
that they are working with AMD

In my previous message I talked about "-d" parameter and that was a
mistake, it's "-f" parameter. Sorry.
I don't usually use amuleweb, but i've tried activating it and can't get
it working. I'll describe the checks i've done until now:

Every time I try to load the kvm-amd module, my system crash with a
kernel panic. I can load kvm without trouble, but no kvm-amd.
There is nothing logged in /var/log/*
I tried to log the crash, but "gdb modprobe" doesn't get anything and
"strace -Ff -tt modprobe kvm-amd 2>&1
This doesn't happen any more after some updates.

The amule package hasn't changed since the bug happened. The backtrace
seems to point to libc6 and the only related update since the bug report
is the libc6 update from jul 3 2007 (libc6 2.5-11ubuntu1 ->
2.6-0ubuntu1), no amule nor wx widgets updates.

I've tried to set a netconsole, but no message is shown in the remote
system when i load kvm-amd.
Sometimes I can use alt+sysrq+b to reboot the system, but sometimes that
doesn't work either.
I've set the system to start a new kernel through kexec when the system
crashes, but can't find the panic
I tried to compile the kvm module from kvm-source package and same thing
happens.

I've found that this happens only if rhythmbox can't reach the audio
hardware. I had an ALSA misconfiguration and once solved rhythmbox
doesn't crash. Anyway this is a bug, if rhythmbox can't use the hardware
it must say that instead of crash.

I've just tried to uninstall gnome-globalmenu-applet and it runs again
so it seems to be globalmenu fault. The strangest thing is that me-tv is
the only app failing to me, and that's why I assumed it should be a me-
tv problem. I'll check with them and reopen this if needed.

I've just found the root cause for this is tmux. If fp ide is run on an
xfce terminal it doesn't crash, but under tmux on the same xfce terminal
it does.
I'll try to identify whether this is a "package problem" or an upstream

On a terminal, whether it's an empty directory or one containing an
older project, launch "fp" to open the ide. It crashes like this every
single time.

While trying to add a new epub to my collection an error window appears.
Clicking on "show details" button the following information is provided:

installation would face the same problem.
A proper solution is to fix the current package or update it to a newer
calibre version (like backporting the package from 15.10), but apparently
nobody cares about bugs in non-lts Ubuntu releases.

Precise works for me with a CTH-460-DE. Ripps ppa was properly disabled
during upgrade to precise, and it's working without it.
Autodetection works, pen works, touch works, xsetwacom works (only tried
to list devices and disable touch).

Instead of building the 2.22 release, I ended using the one from

It's been running for 4 days in a row without crashing, while the 2.13
crashed in 2 days.
The 2.13 from maverick has been running more stable since a week ago or

I've been testing 2.13 on Natty for a while in virtual machine, was
going to report it not crashing, and then it crashed 2 minutes ago.
Same thing, couldn't backtrace it.
I'll build the last release and try again.

I'll try to get a valgrind log, but it may take some time (I have
nothing to download right now).
Since you ask for suggestions, I think transmission-daemon should log
it's activities, like most services do.
Whenever I have a problem with a service, my first step to fix it is to
look at /var/log/
