The Nvidia driver does not install on this linux version and I could not watch
TV. However dmesg looks fine and XBMC connects to Tvheadend OK.

Unity Tweak Tool required unity-webapps-service to start.
unity-webapps-service wasn't possible to install as there was a dependency
on libunity9:i386. However libunity9:i386 wasn't possible to install as the

I run dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb and dpkg --configure -a on
the system. After this I get I get the mesage that nvidia-prime is in a
bad state and should be re-installed. When I do that I get the message
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/nvidia-prime_0.6.5_amd64.deb: subpro
Changed in grub to use upstart, booted, used synaptic to update nvidia-
prime. This worked OK. nfs-common, that also gave an update error under
systemd, updated OK.

I replaced a Geforce GTX 520 card with the Geforce GTS 250 card in one
of my computers with Ubuntu 13.10 and the Nouveau driver. The cards
behaved in the same way. The login screen worked as expected.

I changed Nvidia driver by use of Software Sources from 310.14 to 310.19,
nvidia-exprimental-310 to nvidia-310 updates.
I expeted the message that a reboot was required. I didn't got that message.
Instead I logged out and the crash happend.
After I turned off the computer,
Nvidia 310.14 was in use and then I changed to Nvidia 310.19 in System
Sources. So the kernel must have been built for a Nvidia driver.
When you change from Nouveau to Nvidia you get a message to reboot the
system. In this case when I changed between Nvidia drivers I didn't got
such a message. I
This is what I get in syslog after the reboot. I stopped XBMC and then made a
reboot.
The delay between spin down of the fans and presentation of the login screen
was about 20 sec.

This seems to be a problem also in Ubuntu 12.04. Kworker takes 100% CPU on one
CPU core every 60 sec. Sometimes there is a clash with pulseaudio and audio is
distorted.
This is on a desktop with an AMD X2 260 processor at about 3.2 GHz.

The crash has happened two times. 1:st time directly after boot after upgrading
to the 3.2.0-11 kernel and in this case I was not able to file a bug report as
the keyboard wasn't working. After this I booted the system in recovery mode
and selected Resume normal boot in the menu. This worked OK.
This is on a system updated just an hour ago and based on yesterday's daily
build.
Hardinfo provides the correct information about Open GL, when mesa-utils is
installed.

The Ubuntu login isn't working at all with Nvidia current, there is just
the purple screen. However it is possible to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to
logout and change to Ubuntu 2D that works fine. I uninstall and
installed Nvidia current with Jockey but there was no change. Ubuntu

Managed to start a terminal and do a compiz --replace. At this time the
compiz started and I got the printout below in the terminal. Icon size,
Launcher and upper panel are both changed to full transparency.

I installed libc6-dbg and got a bug which I reported as bug #900268.
I tried to get the bug by starting Spotify, but that went OK.
The crash did not happened in the same place as in bug 899617.
Hope this is of some use.
