SUCCESS! I upgraded to Jaunty overnight and this morning things are
working at first glance. I will upgrade the rest of the machines and do
more thorough testing to ensure that I haven't missed anything.

Custom PageSize
I have the following. My has 1.3.9-2ubuntu7 and not 1.3.9-2ubuntu8. Is
that source of the problem? I don't believe that I did anything
special; just did an upgrade.

Approximate actual printed size of image is 2.625" W x 1.25" H
(landscape). This is approximately 6.25cm x 2.75cm. Note the
similarity to the desired size, which is is 6.25in W x 2.75in H
(landscape). I wonder if the units aren't being passed through.

I must have typed the incorrect command for that particular attempt.
This command is for a No. Envelope which also uses the custom page size.

I am beginning to think that it is just me ;) although the moon is
waxing crescent and not full.
No luck at my end, I'm afraid. I installed foo2zjs from -proposed (in
fact just for good measure I installed all recommended and proposed
since they encompassed cups*). Behaviour hasn't changed. I m

It seems that Rick Richardson has adjusted foo2zjs for differing
versions of cups. Bottom line is to use the version from Rick directly
rather than the distro's.

the printer short edge first.
I have repeated the commands with the -o media=letter removed with no

PPDs and log information I have seen no acknowledgement of the bug nor a
change in its status from Incomplete. So I have dutifully been updating
the OS, and doing our custom page size printing from Windows

reasons we switched to Brother was their support for Linux. We use both
the HL-5370DW for business printing, albeit with several different

This bug has almost expired due to lack of activity. I am wondering why
it is still marked incomplete? This seems to me to be a critical issue;
at least in a publishing workflow like we have setup. And it seems to
creep back with subsequent releases to Ubuntu. Can we please confirm?
