I just upgraded from Kubuntu Gutsy to Kubuntu Hardy via terminal. After
my update and reboot I discovered a big problem. If I try to install any
debian package I get a window that pops up and gives me "Error kdesudo
Command not found!" Any ideas?
OK, adding networkstatus
(http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/kde/networkstatus) worked, but as soon
as I rebooted I had the same problem again. I had to reinstall
networkstatus to get my internet back. Now, when I try to do an update
it gives me a list of about 16 files to update, networkstatus is on

Ok, I figured out how to reproduce this problem. Turn off the power to
your computer without (hold down the power button for 4 seconds)
shutting it down from the menu. If you do this, the next time you start
up Ubuntu you will have the messed up panel icons.

Ok, after I rebooted another time, the network icon disappeared. I
still could connected to my network. In the space where the icon used
to be there was a blank space. Clicking on the blank space did nothing.
A reboot fixed this issue.

gave me an idea. Upon further research, people with Windows 7 have also
been experiencing this bug also with the default install; I reinstalled
Windows 7 and used the default sound card drivers instead of the
official Conexan
This problem was solved for me by installing Skype from their web page -
