Tried with the Oct 04 daily build on my Acer 8204 (x1600). Live CD loads but the
resolution is 1280x1024 with a refresh rate of 61!
Expected resolution of 1680x1050 refresh 60.
There are no 1680 or 1050 options available in the "Screen Resolution
Preferences" and the only refresh rate is 61!

These messages did occur on the final release of Feisty, which is what I
had installed at the time. The messages also occurred (as best my memory
serves) on the final release of Gutsy (which I only tested on live CD).
I am now running Hardy and do not see these messages so it is no longer
an issue

Perform a CAD (Control+Alt+Delete) to restart Live CD, in order to test
alternate options as decribed in other bug reports.
During the shutdown portion of the reboot process receive the following
message(s).
"NetworkManager: nm_dbus_signal_state_change
Feisty installed system has a similar message, but it is not flagged as an
error.
"ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... file /DSDT.aml not found, using machine
DSDT.

Tried 20070381 on my Acer 8204WLMi ATI x1600. Live CD loads but the

The above sequence of messages IS still appearing (with a minor exception) on
Hardy Alpha 4.

file is generic and contains no "serverlayout" section. The exact
symptoms have changed with each update to the X system. When X does
select a driver it selects the generic VESA driver and show a max mode
