present in openSuse 11.1 beta, but *not* in Fedora 10 beta (all with
2.6.27 kernels). In Fedora everything is fine, the network card works,
DHCP works, internet works, every thing. Strange.

Ok, tested on the Averatec laptop and it is working as the Dell laptop.
So the main problem is the Alsa plugin recording thru Puselaudio that is
not working at all, making Flash unusable to broadcast over the
internet. This was wokring A-1 in Ubunt 8.04.

The alsa plugin for GStreamer is broken (alsasrc).

On Intrepid, I fixed with Daniel's PPA, But I lost the ALSA mixer in
the gnome volume control and in the system - preferences - sound.
I am able to record using pulseaudio now using the flash applet (ALSA
Plugin) and I am able to set the volumes using "alsamixer -Dhw:0"
Current system is AMD64.
I want this to be fixed too.

This seems to affect 32 bit and 64 bit alike. The upgraded and then
dysfunctional Hardy->Intrepid installation was 32 bit, and the fresh Intrepid

I tested Ubuntu 8.10 alpha 5 with the Livecd. Sound does work now with the
default boot. There was some strangeness with playbacks but I doubt that's a

After a bit of digging around I think I've found the cause of evolution
failing to display the contacts in the list, it appears that when the
plug-in "auto synchronizes" it fails to populate the "email" field. As
shown when the contact is saved as a .vcf.
