The freeze does not happens, if i'm booting from an usbstick and no cd is in
the DVD-drive.
I I boot from the LiveCD 8.10 final and the installation stops at starting the
partitioner at 50%.
I believe now perhaps it could be a hardware issue with the dvd-drive?

I don't know why, but scince yesterday it works on my home machine. I can
connect from another machine (windowsxp with xming) to my gutsy gibbon. And
locally wiht Xnest :1 -query 127.0.0.1 works to. In booth cases i had the ugly
empty grey x-window with the x-cursor, now i see the login screen.

XDMCP do not work for me too. Al works fine, but if I try to connect
from another Machine (Cygwin,Xming, Feisty or Gutsy) the screen goes
black and i see the gdm loginscreen again. In Feisty it works. In Gutsy

Have changed to KDM at work, can now connect with xming but not with cygwin !!!
If I end the xming session it crashes, this never happens on feisty before.
Something went totally wrong with xdmcp in gutsy, and i think taking every
newest deb from lenny is really not always a good idea, i feel lik

I can happily say that the errors are gone after i change an sata calbe. My
vendor has build not the original cable from asus into my system at the first
sata-drive. ASUS delivers ht M2N32 WS Pro with eight (!) sata cables, so i do
not understand why my vendor didn't use this and take another on
I've solved the bug for me, one of the sata cables was bad - i've changed all
cables to original asus cables (wich delivered with my ASUS-Board)
Didn't believe that a cable can cause so much trouble...now it works for about
two weeks 24 hours a day without an error.

Set /apps/gnome-power-manager/notify/low_capacity = false on my eeePC 701 4G
prevents the popup warning, too.
I never had problems with the shutdown and capacity of my batteries.

I have the same problem with a oem LG drive. It seems to be a bad
firmware in some dvd-drives.
A workaround ist to buy a new drive for 20 Euro or Dollar or whatever
and throw these buggy drives away.
A another workaround could be to blacklist these bad drives.
And finally the best would be to fi

Avidemux cannot sync the audio stream anymore. If you open a video and
you move the slider to any video position, audio starts alway at the
beginnig of the file. It does not respect videocutting.
I created the video from a m2t dvb-s2 transportsteam and split it with
projekt-x

keyboard symbol at the bottom) and chose there your language. After

I have the same issue, that Pidgin does not schow his window.
The Pigin icon in the left panel does not work and the message menu, also. I
have to close pidgin first and start it manually, after this the buddy-windows
shows up. After minimizing it it is gone...
I think it is Unity or Compiz rel

Have the same problem. After login in from a WindowsXP remote desktop
client to my ubuntu 11.10 machine i can login to the rdp session but
after that the wallpaper appears and on the top a "menuebar" appears
with some options, with them i can start nautilus. All windows do not
have any borders or b

After that, i try to login into my oneiric xrdp server but the unity desktop
did not start. I see only the background and the menue of nautilus.

Ok, this bug does not happen in Kubuntu 11.10 an in in openSuse 12.1
(within the gnome shell).
It happens in Unity 3D and Unity 2D, it has nothing to do with compiz.

2. Save the empty file everywhere you want
