All of a sudden firefox is taking a very long time to load web pages.
For example loading www.yahoo.com.au now takes minutes rather than
seconds.
The network is fine as other laptops running windows are not having
problems.

Hi I deleted the existing profile and created a new one as suggested.
I have now noticed that Firefox is working very except for the
yahoo.com.au site!
This suggests to me that the way Firefox is using Swfdec 0.8.2 is an
issue? Should I uninstall this?

I've got the same issue with sudo segfaulting after the upgrade. A
reinstall of sudo did not fix this issue -- running on AMD 64 for what
it's worth.
