I can confirm that recent updates have NOT resolved this issue.
My camera (Olympus C-2100UZ) worked in previous releases, Hardy
included, but does not work with Intrepid.
The workaround does not work for me. It is an older (but very good)
camera that uses SmartMedia, and I have no external adapt

Graphics drivers stopped working, went back to default driver on
startup. When I tried to upgrade the driver through the hardware device
manager this happened.

I've received this same error on my Acer Aspire One as well. A clean
install (just tried 15 minutes ago) doesn't remedy the problem.
I've also been having problems getting Ubuntu to recognize the SD card
reader in my netbook. I'm not a programmer, but I wonder...could there
