with music videos on it, you are given the opportunity to watch them.
When inserting the same CD in Ubuntu, you have no way of knowing that

I believe I might have the same hardware in a Dell Inspiron 1300, but I
don't get this issue closing and opening the lid. I do get flicker
other times, such as when I'm switching back from a full screen game,
and I'm running fully updated Intrepid without any modification to Xorg.

This bug appears to be fixed in Karmic Alpha 2. I tested the the Live
image, and I could set my desktop effects to Normal without any tearing.
I took a screenshot while one of the transparent notification bubbles
was on the screen for good measure.

Under Jaunty, setting Option "AccelMethod" "UXA" like you suggested does
actually fix the tearing problem for me with xserver-xorg-video-intel
2.7.1, but the performance was absolutely awful. Performance running

Adding "options sdhci debug_quirks=1" to "/etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf"
causes my SDHC card to work perfectly! I now have my home folder living
on my 8GB SDHC card on my Dell Mini 9 with the default Jaunty kernel.

This bug drives me crazy. Everything on the panel jumps around
periodically, sometimes after the screen resolution gets changed (such
as when playing full screen games) or after upgrades. I get really
tired of having to unlock everything, move it back, and re-lock it.

I've been informed by the friendly people in the #ubuntu+1 channel on IRC
that Network Manager in Intrepid does not currently save the wireless
network keys. You have to enter them every time you start Ubuntu. I was
told it was a very common known issue which was expected to be fixed in time

I am getting the same error running wesnoth. I already deleted
~/.wesnoth and I do have libasound2-plugins installed. When I run
wesnoth from the terminal, I get an error identical to the the terminal
error reported by M Dewitt, preceded by this line:

In case I wasn't clear, wesnoth does not start.

I can confirm that it has to do with the mounted SD card (tested with it

I have UNR installed on a Dell Mini 9, and I have gotten this crash a
few times now. The crash seems to occur when I'm closing a program.

I just filled a bug against Pidgin has some similar ideas. I had the
idea of giving the Indicator Applet the ability to instruct Pidgin to
hide it's icon when IA was present. Pidgin would delegate the
responsibility of providing access to the Pidgin interface to itself,
removing the redundant ico

I just had maximus segfault again, this time upon closing gparted. I
has started gparted from the command line and formatted an sdhc card.
Apport popped up immediately after closing gparted. As reported above,
everything seems to be functioning as it was before the crash. Maximus
is fully update
