Updating the BIOS didn't change anything. Still blank black screen with
a blinking underscore in upper right corner when resuming from standby.

To be more precise: After the "sudo update-apt-xapian-index" I can now
see all the packages when I use ADEPT MANAGER. I still cannot see them
in ADEPT INSTALLER. This is rather confusing: by mistake I start the
adept installer instead of the adept manager, and wonder why I cannot
find packages.
I did not understand that I was supposed to go the the "KWin" part of
the Keybords Shortcuts. Now that I found it, I added those missing
shortcuts manually, and indeed, they now work properly.

I have changed the Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless Mini PCI adapter to an
Atheros wifi-card.
After that change no problems at all.
So dont try too much with the Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless Mini PCI adapter.

This started after an upgrade sometime between yesterday and the day
before. Googled a little and read somewhere that gnome-globalmenu might
be the culprit here. Turned it off and restarted firefox, and now it
seems to work.
