How do you imagine to hold all necessary langpacks on one CD? Your
analogy with Windows installation not consistent, since Windows distro
is 'one-language'. Ubuntu try to hold as much primary langpacks as
possible on 700 Mb of CD space.

As you could see at [1], there are two templates for Russian language - Russian
(Russian Federation) and Russian.
This is wrong, since Russian language haven't variants like en_US, en_GB, en_CA
and so on.
Please remove templat

Don't know will it be useful, but on Crunchbang Linux Statler (based on
Debian squeeze) I suffer from same problem. When I press the pen, or
press the key on pen it freezes. On 9.10 it worked fine.
