As part of the Budgie desktop installation, the budgie-desktop-common
package installs a file /etc/profile.d/10-budgie-desktop.sh that
unconditionally sets the QT QPA platform theme to GTK+ 2 :

Sometimes (quite often recently) Google Chrome gets stuck on my computer
- its not responding at all and when resizing the window there is no

If I then kill the process (it seems to happen both for TERM and KILL),

What about building it just for the PHP cli? This is actually the use
case I'm interested in - I didn't really have any intention of using
threads under a web server.

While it looks like PHP 7.0 in Ubuntu 16.04 has support for ZTS (there's
an option for that in debian/rules), it is not enabled by default and

@juliank:
This is still a problem, at least with some repos:
1. `apt-get update` returns a non-zero exit code and so automated scripts that
do `apt-get update && apt-get install ...` will fail to install the required
packages.
2. Even if we ignore the error, the index files are not being accepte
@orange-buffalo: the problem you describe is not this bug - its a
problem with GNOME itself. This report is about the Xserver bug that was
fixed by Ubuntu (though not in Xorg itself, so it is still evident in
non-Ubuntu operating system).

Public bug reported:
I'm runing Ubuntu 12.04 (beta) and every so often a window pops up saying
"System Notification
Software updates are available"
And there are a Cancel and OK buttons.
When I click OK, a nautilus window pops up (I'm using Kubuntu, so its
not something I'm used to see).

Screenshot showing the dialog.
The weird effect on the dialog's backgorund is because the dialog is
semi transaparent (which according to my kwin settings probably means
its a dialog and not a normal window) and it is disaplayed over a part
of the background that has a sharp brightness change.
**
When it happened again this time, I went and started killing processes
until the dialog went away. As far as I understand now, the process
responsible for this dialog is /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/polkit-kde-
authentication-agent-1 .

Its been like this for a while in the Kubuntu 12.04 alpha and beta, I'm
sorry I didn't report this sooner.
When I specify a KDE workspace session under LightDM, when I log in I
