I haven't actually tried whether the fix works or not, but thanks for
taking the time to look at the bug and (as it seems), fix it too :)

True. with an ssd drive things are different. However, the approach I

Yes, sorry, my bad.
When trying to connect to some network that requires a password, a dialog is
opened, which can then be moved...
if it's not a unity bug, should I somehow move it to network-manager or
network-manager-applet?

So basically what this bug is that there is no way to resize the size of
the dash that appears when one presses Alt + F2, say, except for being
able to resize it to fullscreen and from fullscreen. This is especial
@Mark : No, not quite. the bug you mention says that focus stays with
the app that you open, whilst this bug addresses the problem of that not
happening. A solution to both bugs, as Mark Shuttleworth pointed out in
the previous bug report, is not changing compiz focus prevention levels
but to have
This bug also strongly affects games. For example, sometimes my wifi
will ask me for a password. If I am playing a game, this puts an ugly
password dialog in front of the game, making it unplayable.

It doesn't work for me... you mean that say I wanted 'f' to no longer
open banshee fullscreen, I would press View and then hover the mouse
over "Fullscreen" and press some button, am I correct?

Ok, I haven't tried it yet as it seems it needs gnome to be restarted,
but I trust that it will work.
Thanks for this info, it is a very useful feature, I wonder why the
option was removed from the Appearance Preferences GUI...seems like a
no-brainer to leave a configuration option there if one ha
