The Japanese - Anthy input method provides the additional configuration method
for selecting a keyboard layout. imho, this should also be implemented for
pinyin.

occasionally a reboot fixes the problem but not always. reoccurence
until i apt-get purge keepass2. the problem might not be in the keepass2
package but in one of mono dependencies

i attached another screenshot, this time the desktop.
the same problem occurs on my ubuntu workstation at work which is x86_64
installation with a different nvidia graphic adapter (quadro)

thanks for the suggestion, i'll give it a try.
i suspect the culprit is one of the mono dependencies of keepass. reason
is, keepass does not use the native window manager, it's interface looks
very windows-like (as in ms windows).
i can usually "fix" the issue by purging keepass2. just removing
i just can't seem to reproduce this reliably.
the problem also occurs after removing (not purging) keepass2. the
update-mime-database command does not help but killing X and logging in again
seems to provide a temporary fix.
i attached a copy of my .xsession-errors.

When changing the display language in Clementine via menu "Tools" -->
"Preferences..." --> Behavior --> Dropdown list "Language", I expect the titles
of the playlists in Library --> "Smart playlists" to follow these language
changes.

I have the same problem with pitivi on Ubuntu 10.04 (Unity and Gnome
desktop).
pitivi also freezes when running a preview or when rendering the video.
At first I thought that the problem is Compiz but the problem remains
when logging into "Ubuntu Classic (no effects)" as well.

the Ubuntu login sound starts playing - the mute setting gets lost as
