I run an ubuntu mirror. Due to a mistake in my internal firewall
configuration, the installation could not reach the mirror correctly. It
was responding on tcp/80 and redirected to an auth page. The installer
crashed instead of gracefully failing. I submitted multiple crash

several releases since then and should be updated. Specifically, the
iputils-ping package needs to be updated to support the unified ping
binary.

This is occurring on 14.04 as well. Same error, but setting
"NEED_GSSD=yes" doesn't remove the delay. Had to blacklist the module.

Just to document additional support. I concur that on a Server install,
PE should disabled by default. A server doesn't fall into the use case
of needing to protect the privacy of the user. It is meant to be known,
not obfuscated.
