I can confirm this with II 8.10 RC on an ACER 3618 Laptop.

Updated my Desktop to Intrepid Ibex and the problem still exists. I had
HH 8.04 KDE4 Remix and it did the same. II still no fix. I even
installed kdebase just so it wouldn't report Not installed like my
Laptop above. Still didn't do the trick. Really all it added extra on
top of what Kubuntu h
I can verify this with my ACER 3618 laptop with 2GB RAM and the Intel
GMA915. I have tested on other machines that have the GMA3100 display
card and it does not occur with those, at least not that can be seen by
the eye. Running Kubuntu Intrepid 8.10 up to date as of 2008-10-09

Hmmm... I don't have this issue with XP, which is on this machine as a
chekc in see kind of thing, but I really never noticed it in BIOS
either, just when I log in to Kubuntu. When playing around with the
earlier Alpha Live CDs, I never noticed a Flicker, it has started
recently and to me severely

Well...I was able to get the Ubuntu Live-CD to flicker the same way as

I can confirm that on 2.6.22-14 kernel that a suspend from RAM works
except for Sound. This is on a Dell Dimension 8300 w/ 2GB RAM, PIV-HT
and a SB Live sound card. The only way to rest the sound is reboot. I
did not create a new Bug report as this seemed very similar to this
thread.

Hey. I think this was generated by my attempt with this. The files are
attached. If you need anything further let me know. Glad to help. I
was still able to recover and use my system and a lot easier than the
manual way, so this applications was still a great help. Keep it going.
