This still seems to be a bug in Hardy. I had mysql installed, then removed
completely. Then reinstalled. The following errors persist.
E: mysql-server-5.0: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit
status 1
E: mysql-server: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

Just type:
sudo chmod 777 -R /etc/xdg/menus/
That's All!
