Jon, what i said was ican't find a place to click so the icons don't show on
desktop. But they still duplicate in file browser menu. The extra menu items
and icons just sit there, empty -- they don't show any content. The option to
Unmount them is active, but doesn't remove anything.

No, in fact it doesn't happen on Internet, it happens WITHOUT Internet. When my
Internet cable modem and router is disabled and i try to launch Firefox, it
crashes the system.

i wasn't able to enable the apport, i won't save, it keeps saying i don't have
the necessary authorisations to do that.
So i went into authorizations and enabled everything i thought might have any
relevance to it, i.e. system settings, systemtoolsbackend ( i don't know what
that is) etc

Disabling add-ons didn't help, in fact it made me realize it doesn't loose it
after you exit and relaunch, but it looses it right away.
I am too busy with other stuff so i am a bit scattered

Firefox keeps crashing, and is VERY difficult to recover. Reboots don't help,
