I am getting the same issue here too
Fresh install of 9.04 today. The installer failed and shut down the PC at about
25-27%. I tried to install 3 times.
I made a bootable USB to install Ubuntu and this time it worked.
With nothing running, first boot I noticed the PC was very slow. I checked the
Yeah ok I just discovered, this is a known issue since the last couple
of years.
You can fix it by adding "noapic nolapic" to your boot options.

Sorry
Can only check this when 8.04 is released which I believe is 28th of
this month.
Problem is on 8 production systems running 7.10 / oo 2.3 and now that I
know the cause it is a irritation only. If it's not fixed on 8.04 I will
re-post.

czapa_ols, the repository path isn't making it from the command line
into etc/apt/sources.lst, and presumably as a result, /bin/bash isn't
getting copied into the bootstrap-target.

By the way, pardon the launchpad-newbie question, but does somebody need

I tried to upgrade today and received a message to log a bug against
update manager w/ the log files attached. I checked the 'main.log' file

If I login with a password, my usb keys show up on the xubuntu desktop
normally. If I use auto-login, the drives don't show up. They appear
as normal in dmesg, and I can access them using 'mount' at the command
line. Affects my laptop and desktop, running xubuntu 32 and 64, updated
today.

The problem still exists on the xubuntu RC iso. If i boot into the live
cd, usb keys don't auto mount. If I log out and log in again, usb keys
work.
